In January the staff at MKA divided into teams from across its Cambridge, London and Oxford offices to take part in its own annual Bird Race. The aim was to identify and note as many bird species as possible from dawn-to-dusk which formed part of a company training and team building event.

The observation locations included Norfolk, Portsmouth and Kent with the winning birdwatching team spotting and recording over 100 bird species including the Lesser Spotted Woodpecker – the least common of the three woodpeckers resident in Britain, Merlin – the UK’s smallest bird of prey, and a large flock of around 60 Bramblings on the Isle of Sheppey.
